The Accounting Clerk will assist the accounting team in credit and collection and accounts payable. Research and reconciliation of accounting discrepancies for both internal and external customers. Prepare audit samples and requests. Review and process check requests, garnishments, and various adjustments. Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting & Finance management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Open, sort and date incoming mail.
  2. Review expenditures for appropriate authorization, coding, and supporting documentation in Approval Max.
  3. Code and enter invoices into QuickBooks.
  4. Review expenditures for appropriate authorization, coding, and supporting documentation.
  5. Reconcile credit card accounts and clear accounts monthly.
  6. Prepare vendor checks for signature and mailing.
  7. Ensure scanned/digital documentation is complete monthly.
  8. Update/maintain key month-end finance spreadsheets (work papers).
  9. Research accounts payable inquiries from vendors and staff.
  10. Enter other QuickBooks entries from month-end spreadsheets.
  11. Support international impact center monthly financial reconciliations and reporting.
  12. Scan, file or copy documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field or related experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in AR/AP or other related duties.
  • 1+ years of exposure to working with executive leadership.
  • Must have knowledge of general bookkeeping, accounts payable, to include A/P & recording income, office procedures and practice.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience mandatory.
  • Must have the ability to plan and organize work schedule to complete tasks as assigned by the management team.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and timeliness with responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and acumen.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively conveying complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented approach, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and financial systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously (multi-task).
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the company.
  • Easily takes initiative and works independently.
  • Maturity, professionalism, and good work ethic.
